Robert L. Brown
Robert Brown serves as on of two Committee Members for the Teachers' Retirement System.
Mr. Brown is Executive Secretary of the 8000 member WV School Service Personnel Association. Prior to joining the WVSSPA, Brown served as a Senior National Representative for the American Federation of Teachers for twelve years and Executive Director for AFT-WV for eleven years. Brown resides in Charleston, WV and is a member of the WV Workforce Investment Council, a member of the WV Community and Technical College Council, a member of the TRS Committee of the WV Investment Management Board, and is a Commissioner for the Malden Public Service District and has served as Senior Vice President of the WV AFL-CIO. Brown is a Marine Corps veteran of the Viet Nam war and was educated in Kanawha County public schools, WV Institute of Technology, and WV University. Bob enjoys golfing, hunting and fishing and teaches Sunday school at his church.
