Carlyle D. Farnsworth
Appointed to the Board of Trustees on August 17, 1995, by former Governor Gaston
Caperton, Carlyle D. Farnsworth is a prominent member of the financial community. Mr. Farnsworth was born in Parkersburg, West Virginia, and educated at Parkersburg High School, the Consumer School of Banking, and
the University of Virginia.
Mr. Farnsworth has extensive experience in the banking field working with several banking institutions such as the Peoples National Bank, (Parkersburg);
the Commercial Bank and Trust Company, (Parkersburg); the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation; the State of West Virginia Banking Department; and the Ohio Valley National Bank, where he served as
Executive Vice President. Mr. Farnsworth was also the President of the United National Bank-North, formerly the Half Dollar Trust and Savings Bank.
Mr. Farnsworth enjoys affiliations with several organizations. He is currently serving as Board Member and former President of both the Wheeling Chamber of Commerce and Wheeling Hospital. In addition,
he serves the National Trails Council as Executive Board Member and past President. Mr. Farnsworth also serves the Boy Scouts of America as their area Vice President and is a member of the Regional
Committee for Silver Antelope Award. He serves as President of Main Street Wheeling and is also past President of the West Liberty College
Foundation. Mr. Farnsworth is currently serving his third term as a member of the Visiting Committee of the College of Business and Economics to West Virginia University, and he is Chairman of the
Trustees of the Episcopal Diocese of West Virginia. |
