Melinda Ashworth-Kiss
Melinda Ashworth Kiss is the representative for the Coal Workers’ Pneumoconiosis Fund.
Ms. Kiss is the Assistant Commissioner of Finance at the West Virginia Insurance Commission. Prior to her employment with the Insurance Commission she served as the Chief Financial Officer of the WV Workers’ Compensation Division for seven years. Ms. Kiss was one of the 300 plus employees who transitioned from the Workers’ Compensation Commission to the Insurance Commission on January 1, 2006. Before beginning her work in state government, Ms. Kiss had 11 years professional accounting experience in the private sector. She attended West Virginia University and Concord College, graduating with honors in accounting. She is a Certified Public Accountant, and is a member of the Government Finance Officer’s Association, the West Virginia Society of Certified Public Accountants, and the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants.
