Outstanding CPA Award

On May 6, 2011 Roger Summerfield, Director of Operations, was named the West Virginia Society of CPAs Outstanding CPA in Government for 2011. This award recognizes a CPA employed in the government sector that has made a sustained and significant contribution to the increased efficiency and effectiveness of his/her government organization, and has contributed to the growth of the accounting profession by actively participating in professional organizations.

Roger has been an employee of the IMB and its predecessor organizations for over twenty-one years. Roger would like to thank both Craig Slaughter and Matt Jones for the support they have shown and guidance they have provided through the years.

Past recipients of this award include Melinda Kiss, representative to the IMB for the Coal Workers’ Pneumoconiosis Fund, and Virgil Helton, former designee to the IMB of Governor Manchin.
